Historic Street Signs

The historic street sign project began in 1996 as a joint project between the 4th Street Business Revitalization Zone and the Cliff Bungalow-Mission Community Association. Thanks to generous donations of individuals, businesses and associations, this project is now complete. The historic street names are listed below. You will notice on the Mission side that many are named for the Oblate Fathers and other individuals, many of French origin, involved with the settlement of the area. In Cliff Bungalow the streets were named for Canada’s Governors General following Confederation.
